Check out beautiful and historic Glover Park homes. The neighborhood is just north of Georgetown. Glover Park real estate is in demand, because of the great location, with parks, great restaurants, and community events. Benjamin Stoddert Elementary is one of the top rated schools in the District, so families with kids can be assured there are great educational opportunities here.
As you search Glover Park homes, you’ll find row houses built in the 1920s and 1930s. Many have been fully updated with stainless steel appliances in the kitchens and spa-like bathrooms. The interiors are warm and welcoming, with lots of light. Beautiful architectural details, like hardwood floors, fine woodworking, and exposed brickwork have been preserved.
If you’re looking for something more modern, there are many newer buildings with apartments and condominiums. They have sleek interiors with open floor plans. Features include spacious chef’s kitchens, tranquil master suites, and plenty of storage space.
Glover Archbold Park is the western boundary of the neighborhood. It has a three-mile long pathway, where residents enjoy walking, jogging, and walking their dogs. The old-growth trees along the path keep it shady and cool. You might even see deer! Residents can also apply for a plot in the Glover Park Community Garden. It started as a community victory garden during World War II. Today, gardeners can use community tools and must follow organic gardening practices to keep the soil healthy.
The community gets together to celebrate Glover Park Day the first Saturday in June. It’s a day of live music, food from local restaurants, and vendor booths featuring small businesses. Kids enjoy special activities like face painting, snow cones, and a bounce house. There’s an obstacle course for dogs. Attendees purchase raffle tickets to win great prizes.
In addition to many excellent eateries along Wisconsin Avenue, Glover Park is known for the many embassies located there, including the Russian embassy and the Chinese visa office.
